The Chair of the NATO Military Committee discusses regional security while in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 19-20 July 2022, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he met with members of the Presidency, the Minister of Defence, Mr Sifet Podzic and the Chief of Defence, Lieutenant General Senad Mašović. He also visited the Tactical Support Brigade HQ, the Intelligence-Security Agency and the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo.

NATO Secretary General meets with the Chair of the Tri-Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sefik Džaferović

The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that political dialogue and practical cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina “are more important than ever, with Russia’s brutal war in Ukraine and its malign influence across the region”. Speaking after a meeting with the Chair of the Tri-Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sefik Džaferović at NATO Headquarters on Wednesday, 25 May 2022, Mr. Stoltenberg stressed that NATO strongly supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and “remains committed to its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, for the benefit of all your people.”

Coronavirus Response: NATO donates ventilators to Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 24 January 2022, Bosnia and Herzegovina received 30 ventilators from NATO’s Pandemic Response Stockpile to help reinforce the country’s health care facilities in response to coronavirus infections. NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre and Hungary coordinated this donation.

NATO reaffirms its commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina at change of command ceremony

On 7 December 2021, a change of command ceremony from Brigadier General Eric Folkestad (US Army) to Brigadier General Pamela McGaha (US Army) at the helm of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo took place in Sarajevo, at the Army Hall of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina enhance their operational standards through training equipment donated by the United Kingdom

On 16 November 2021, a public ceremony was held at the Combat Training Center in Manjača (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to mark the donation of training equipment – including automated targets for live shooting, an urban combat training mobile village, and smart video surveillance - by the United Kingdom to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

NATO Secretary General discusses cooperation with Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Bisera Turković, and the Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Sifet Podžić, to NATO headquarters on Wednesday (14 July 2021), to discuss how to further enhance NATO’s relationship with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.

Coronavirus Response: NATO supports Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 8 July, Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a ceremony for the handover of medical equipment received from NATO’s Pandemic Response Trust Fund. The donation included more than 500 sensor thermometers for body temperature, IsoArk N36-2 negative pressure chambers, and portable X-ray machines.

Coronavirus response: NATO and Poland support to Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 6 May 2021, Poland delivered medical equipment and supplies, including face masks and protective clothing, to Bosnia and Herzegovina in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and Poland to respond to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s urgent requirement.
