On Monday 8 June 2020, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg launched his reflection on strengthening the Alliance in an increasingly competitive world. The transatlantic online conversation linked Brussels with Washington, D.C., and was organised by the Atlantic Council and the German Marshall Fund of the United States in partnership with NATO's Public Diplomacy Division.

Learn more about #NATO2030

In December 2019 NATO Leaders invited NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to lead a forward-looking reflection process to strengthen NATO's political dimension. To support him, the Secretary General has appointed a group of ten experts. NATO is also engaging with Allies, public and private sector experts, and young leaders to provide fresh thinking. The Secretary General's recommendations will inform the direction NATO Leaders set out when they meet in 2021.
