NATO Deputy Secretary General’s visit to Romania
On Monday 31 May 2021, NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Mircea Geoană, will travel to Bucharest, Romania, where he will visit the Headquarters of the Multinational Division South-East (HQ MND-SE), which is taking part in the NATO exercise Steadfast Defender 21.
The Deputy Secretary General, together with the Chair of the NATO Military Committee Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, will meet the Romanian Minister of Defence, Mr. Nicolae Ciucă, and the Chief of Defence of Romania, Lt. Gen. Daniel Petrescu.
He will also participate in a discussion at the Atlantic - Black Sea Security Forum, hosted by the Aspen Institute of Romania.
The Deputy Secretary General will inaugurate the Euro-Atlantic Centre for Resilience (E-ARC), along with the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bogdan Aurescu and the President and European Commissioner for Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight/ Vice-President Mr. Maroš Šefčovič.
The Deputy Secretary General will also have bilateral meetings with the President of Romania and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
