NATO Secretary General’s statement on no-fly zone over Libya

We do this as part of the broader international effort to protect civilians against attacks from the Gaddafi regime. We will cooperate with partners in the region and welcome their contribution.

All Allies are committed to fulfil the mandate of the United Nations resolution and stop the outrageous violence against the Libyan people.  That's why we have decided to assume responsibility for the no-fly zone.
