NATO Deputy Secretary General visits Morocco

The Deputy Secretary General of NATO, H.E. Amb. Claudio Bisogniero, travelled to Morocco on 25 January 2010, where he delivered a keynote address at the conference on "The Mediterranean Dialogue and the New Strategic Concept of NATO: Seize the Moment for an Enhanced and Reinforced Mediterranean Dialogue”.

This conference,which was co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Morocco and NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division, brought together in Rabat opinon leaders, senior scholars, academics and officials from Morocco and NATO.

During the visit, the Deputy Secretary General held bilateral meetings with a number of senior government officials in charge of cooperation between NATO and Morocco.

In particular, Ambassador Bisogniero met the Minister of Interior, H.E. Mr. Moulay Jaeb Cherkaoui; the Chief of Defense, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces, General Bennani;  the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Amb. Youssef Amrani; the Director General of Studies and Documentation, Mr. Mohamed Yassine Mansouri; State Secretary to the Minister of Interior, Mr. Saad Hassar, as well as distinguished members of parliaments from the main political parties.
