On 15 May, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Todor Churov, and the Head of the Corporate Communications Section of NATO's Public Diplomacy Division, Dr Gerlinde Niehus, opened the NATO multimedia exhibition “Securing Our Future” in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Commemorating NATO’s 60th anniversary and the 5th anniversary of Bulgaria joining the Alliance, the exhibition intends to raise awareness of NATO’s role in responding to existing and emerging security challenges.

The expo presents a unique opportunity to find out more about the Alliance via an engaging display of interactive, video, photographic and written content that outlines NATO’s current operations, capabilities development and partnerships.

With 15 units that include touch-screens and embedded flat-panel televisions, interactive stories, a quiz and a distribution unit offering take-home multimedia and print products, the exhibition is aimed at all age and interest groups. It will remain open to the public at the Congress Center in the National Palace of Culture in downtown Sofia until 2 June.

A day prior to the opening, Dr. Niehus delivered a lecture on “NATO at 60: What Next?” to students of Sofia University and discussed NATO’s future with members of the Students’ Diplomatic Club of the Faculty of Law.
