Estonia has recently delivered medical supplies to Georgia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Ukraine, as part of multiple Allied efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The deliveries included 3000 pump dispenser bottles of hand disinfection liquid, 600 litres of disinfectant for hands, and 400 litres of disinfectant for surfaces to Georgia, 4000 pump dispenser bottles of hand disinfectant liquid, 1000 litres of disinfectant for surfaces, 300 bedding sets and 300 blankets to Montenegro, 4000 pump dispenser bottles of disinfection liquid for hands and 1000 litres of disinfectant for surfaces, and several hundreds of mattresses, bedding sets and blankets to North Macedonia, and 1500 pump dispenser bottles of hand disinfection liquid and 1000 litres of disinfectant for surfaces for hospitals to Ukraine.

They were provided through the European Civil Protection Mechanism and in close consultation with the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre, NATO’s  principal disaster response mechanism; the Centre operates on a 24/7 basis, coordinating requests from NATO Allies and partners, as well as offers of assistance to cope with the consequences of major crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. This is yet another example of solidarity and concrete cooperation between NATO and the EU in supporting allies and partners as they deal with common challenges.
