NATO Secretary General visits Luxembourg

The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, paid his farewell visit to Luxembourg on 20 May. He was received by Grand-Duke Henri of Luxembourg and held talks with Prime Minister Juncker, Minister of Foreign Affairs Asselborn and Defence Minister Schiltz.

They discussed NATO's post-Summit agenda, especially the new Strategic Concept,  NATO's operations, and NATO's relations with the EU and Russia. Prime Minister Juncker also presented the NATO Secretary General with the "Grand-Croix Merite" award as appreciation for his service to the Alliance.
