NATO’s Atlantic Command to be declared operational

On Thursday 17 September, NATO’s newest command, Joint Force Command Norfolk, will hold a ceremony to mark reaching initial operational capability. The event will be streamed online.

Speakers will include Gen. Tod D. Wolters, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), Adm. Chris Grady, commander, United States Fleet Forces, Vice Adm. Andrew Lewis, commander, Joint Force Command Norfolk, Vice Adm. P M Bennett, chief of staff, Supreme Allied Command Transformation, and Rear Adm. Andrew Betton, deputy commander, Joint Force Command Norfolk. A short media availability (in person as well as online) is planned at the end of the event.

14:30 (CET)      Ceremony at the JFCNF headquarters on Naval Support Activity (NSA) Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Virginia.
