NATO reaffirms its unwavering support for Ukraine

Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller welcomed Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman of Ukraine to NATO Headquarters on Thursday (9 February 2017) for talks on the security situation and NATO’s support for Ukraine. Ms. Gottemoeller noted that she chaired a special meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission on Wednesday, at which every single Ally voiced strong support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. She expressed NATO’s concern at the recent spike in violence in and around Avdiivka, and condemned Russia’s continuing destabilisation of eastern Ukraine.
