NATO delivers ventilators to North Macedonia

NATO delivered 60 ventilators to Skopje on Friday, 30 October, as part of the Alliance’s support to Allies to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) in response to a request from North Macedonia.

NATO delivers ventilators to the Czech Republic

The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic received 60 ventilators from the NATO stockpile in response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday, 27 October 2020. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC). The ventilators will be distributed by the Health Ministry’s Crisis Preparedness Department to hospitals in the country.

Coronavirus response: NATO delivers ventilators to Allies in need

NATO Allies decided on Friday (23 October 2020) to deliver 60 ventilators to the Czech Republic in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. The ventilators will be provided from the stockpile of medical equipment and supplies that NATO established to be able to provide immediate relief to Allies or partners in need.

NATO delivers ventilators to Albania

The Albanian Ministry of Defence received 60 ventilators from the NATO stockpile in response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Saturday, 17 October. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC). Later this week the ventilators will be handed over to the Albanian Ministry of Health for distribution to hospitals.

Coronavirus response: United States delivers ventilators for NATO stockpile

On Friday (18 September 2020), the United States donated 200 ventilators to a stockpile of medical supplies that NATO has established to respond to a potential second wave of COVID-19. The US Agency for International Development delivered the ventilators to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency’s Southern Operational Centre in Taranto, Italy. Civilian and military officials from Italy, the United States and other Allied countries attended the handover ceremony.

Since the start of the pandemic, NATO’s Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme has tapped into its broad network of scientists and research institutions in NATO and partner countries to find innovative solutions against the spread of the coronavirus. The Programme was established with similar objectives in mind: to address emerging and ongoing security challenges, such as the one posed by the current pandemic, through collaborative initiatives.

Coronavirus response: Spain completes delivery of medical assistance to Iraq

On Thursday 13 August 2020, the Spanish Ministry of Defence delivered disinfectants to the Iraqi authorities, in response to the global Coronavirus pandemic. A ceremony to this effect was held at the Iraqi air base of Al-Muthana, in the presence of several officials, including Brigadier General Salah from the Prime Minister National Operation Command and the Spanish Chargée d’Affaires, Mrs Mariana Figueroa Sánchez.​​​​​​

Coronavirus response: Spain delivers critical medical aid to Iraq

On Sunday 26 July 2020, in response to a request for COVID-19 relief aid from Iraq to NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC), Spain handed over critical medical supplies to Iraqi authorities. The donation by the Spanish Ministry of Defence was handed over to the Director of the Prime Minister´s National Operations Centre Major General Mohamed Al Shimary, by the Deputy Head of Mission of the Spanish Embassy Mariana Figueroa Sánchez, during a small ceremony at Baghdad International Airport.
