NATO Defense College marks first-ever online graduation
The NATO Defense College held its first-ever online graduation on Thursday (9 April 2020), with some 120 course members and College staff connected to follow the ceremony. The graduates of the NATO Regional Cooperation Course were addressed by the College Commandant, Lieutenant General Chris Whitecross, as well as guest of honour Franco Frattini, Justice and Chamber President to the Italian Supreme Administrative Court.

The 49th NATO Defense College academic advisory board meeting
On 28 and 29 November 2019, the NATO Defense College (NDC) Academic Advisory Board convened its 49th annual meeting at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The AAB aims to advise the Commandant on ways in which to improve the academic, research and outreach activities of the College, to enhance links with NATO HQ and Allied Command Transformation, and to ensure that NDC outreach strategies contribute to those of the Alliance.

Alliance marks 65th Anniversary of the NATO Defense College
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg led the North Atlantic Council and the NATO Military Committee in celebrating the 65th anniversary of the NATO Defense College (NDC) on Thursday (13 October 2016). During a commemorative ceremony in Rome, the Secretary General highlighted the NDC’s role as a leading centre for forward-looking education.

The NATO Defense College in Brazil - 8 May: Europe Day Conference ''A Secure Europe in a Multipolar World''
The European Security Strategy is the document in which the European Union clarifies its security strategy, aimed at achieving a secure Europe in a better world, identifying the threats facing the Union, defining its strategic objectives and setting out the political implications for Europe. The European Security Strategy was drawn up in 2003 under the authority of the EU's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, and adopted by the European Council in Brussels on 12 and 13 December 2003.

From 27 to 29 April 2010, a group of NATO and Partner country Professional Military Education (PME) experts met at the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy, to form teams of writers to draft the themes, sections and objectives for the three PME levels considered most relevant to the needs of Partner Countries.

NATO Defense College senior course visits NATO HQ
On 30 october 2012, senior officers and civilian officials of NATO Defense College visited NATO HQ in Brussels to meet top NATO officials and receive expert briefings. The visit offered course participants an opportunity to exchange opinions and ideas while expanding their knowledge of NATO’s broader agenda.
