NATO Deputy Secretary General: “Moldova contributes to Euro-Atlantic security”

Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană met Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu of the Republic of Moldova at NATO Headquarters on Tuesday (6 June 2023). Mr. Geoană underscored NATO’s commitment to deepening its cooperation with the Republic of Moldova, with full respect for its constitutional neutrality. Mr. Geoană also welcomed Moldova’s participation at the upcoming NATO Summit in Vilnius.

NATO AWACS planes secure Moldova Summit airspace

NATO AWACS surveillance flights will contribute to the protection of the European Political Community Summit in Moldova. Flying over Allied airspace, NATO AWACS will guard the skies over the Summit venue from 31 May to 2 June.

Coronavirus Response: NATO and Hungary donate ventilators to the Republic of Moldova

The Republic of Moldova has received twenty ventilators from NATO’s Pandemic Response Stockpile to help the country respond to coronavirus infections. NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre and Hungary coordinated the donation in response to a request by Moldova for COVID-19 assistance.

NATO delivers IT equipment to the Republic of Moldova

On 29 March 2021, an online event marked the delivery of information technology (IT) equipment from NATO to Moldova’s Ministry of Defence. The IT equipment will be installed in the Ministry’s Transformation Directorate. It will contribute to move the Moldovan defence transformation effort forward.
