Atlantic Treaty Association annual event to focus on minimizing conflict over natural resources

On 8 April, the Atlantic Treaty Association will hold its annual spring conference in Toronto, hosted by the Atlantic Council of Canada. The event entitled “Minimizing Conflict in the Race for Natural Resources: Securing Economic Stability in the 21st Century” will discuss energy security, the importance of minerals, and identifying global resource needs and security issues.

NATO Secretary General outlines future NATO at Youth Summit

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer engaged today in an open debate with young people from almost 60 nations about "NATO in 2020: What Lies Ahead". This fourth Youth Summit is held on the occasion of the NATO Summit meeting in Strasbourg/Kehl from 2-3 April and is organised by NATO's Public Diplomacy Division, the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), the Office Franco-Allemand Pour La Jeunesse, France3 Alsace, and the Ecole National d’Administration (ENA).

NATO cosponsors Afghan movie festival in Estonia

Afghan movies and movie-makers were at the forefront of a three-day film festival entitled “Silk Road Hot Spots”, itself part of the 12th Tallin Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia. The event was organized by the Estonian Atlantic Treaty Association and cosponsored by NATO and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

ATA mission to Ukraine

Several representatives from the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA) travelled to Ukraine on 16-19 June following an invitation from the Atlantic Council of Ukraine. The aim of the trip was to discuss ways to enhance the activities of the Atlantic Council of Ukraine and to assess Ukrainian public opinion towards NATO.
