NATO and Russia Military discuss Communication approaches
Moscow, 30 November - In the framework of an exchange program between NATO and the Russian Federation Ministry of Defence, Dr. Stefanie Babst, Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy and Brig. Gen. Massimo Panizzi, Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Advisor to the NATO Military Committee, were invited to Moscow to participate in discussions with military Public Affairs Officers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
During their meetings both NATO officials engaged with their counterparts of the Russian Ministry of Defence for an exchange of views on the way national and international institutions communicate with their publics. With the increasing importance of internet based social media, discussions also focused on modern media challenges versus conventional media approaches.
Concluding their visit Dr. Babst and Brig.Gen. Panizzi participated in a seminar at the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies where NATO and Russia cooperation were discussed.
