NATO's Military Committee visits ISAF : Transition is the future of Afghanistan
The NATO Military Committee (MC) concluded an official visit to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Admiral Di Paola, Chairman of the MC and the NATO Military Representatives met with Gen. John R. Allen, ISAF Commander, Amb. Simon Gass, NATO Senior Civilian Representative and Lt.Gen. Daniel P. Bolder, Commander of the NATO Training Mission Afghanistan (NTMA) for updates on the overall security situation and the evolution on the Transition progress.
“Transition is the future of Afghanistan,” said Adm. Di Paola, “Today over 300.000 Afghan forces are already providing security for over a quarter of the population. This is an important moment and we see encouraging signs of progress that need to be sustained. NATO will stay committed to the country and will continue to train the Afghan Security Forces.”
