Change of Command COMKFOR

In the afternoon of 1st September 2004, the Change of Command Ceremony of Commander Kosovo Force (COMKFOR) was held at Headquarters Kosovo Force. Lieutenant General Yves de Kermabon, French Army, took command of the Kosovo Force, taking over from Lieutenant General Holger Kammerhoff, German Army.

Danish Battalion Change of Command

This month was rich in things like transfer of authority, so did happened in Danish battalion. Colonel Tom Stoltenberg officially took command of MNB (NE) Danish component on the 13th of August 2004. The Change of Command ceremony took place in the Danish Battalion, located in Donje Zabare, close to Mitrovica

MNB East Change of Command

CAMP BONDSTEEL, Kosovo -- After nearly a month of training in Hohenfels, Germany, the 38th Infantry Division, from 19 different U.S. states, took command of the Multi-national Brigade (East) Kosovo Forces from the 34th Infantry Division Aug. 31.

GNO total success!!!

From the youngest attendee to the oldest, twenty-five women from different socioe-conomic, moral, and cultural backgrounds grouped together Saturday night, 28 August 2004, at HQ KFOR, Film City, to participate in the first ever GNO (Girls Night Out). In a community with a male majority, KFOR women shared stories, dreams, and ideas to help each other succeed while deployed to KFOR.

Hospital for All

The Moroccan hospital in Kosovo first opened in December 1999. Its mission has always been clear: to treat patients from all communities in Kosovo.
Five years after its activation, the hospital achieves its mission of by delivering free services that cover a broad spectrum of needs.


Working Together for a Better Kosovo

August 10 - The Multi-National Brigade Center commander hosted 15 news agencies in his Pristina headquarters as the second stop on KFOR's media campaign. The campaign was developed to show the people of Kosovo what KFOR is actively doing to protect them and solicit everyone's commitment to the betterment of Kosovo.

Catholics Revere Black Madonna

The annual Pilgrimage to the Church of Letnica village is one of the most significant events for thousands of Christians from many parts of the world. They come here with their families to see the well-known Black Madonna, to enrich themselves spiritually (to strengthen their spirit) and to take pleasure in the beauty of the Madonna. Many well-known people participated in the pilgrimage to this place and then completely dedicated themselves to serve God. One of the most vivid examples of such dedications is that of Mother Theresa.

Film City Protection

The 3rd Professional Army Company has helped erect two shelters in Film City. Each shelter, 9 meters by 5 meters, required 15,000 German sandbags.

Restore Confidence

As the 9th COMKFOR commanding more than 17,000 soldiers coming from more than 30 nations, I am very proud to serve my 3rd tour in KOSOVO for the next year. My mission will be to ensure a safe and secure environment with your collective help to restore confidence

Ukrainian Contingent Change of Command

On August 7, 2004 the transfer of authority in the Ukrainian contingent of the Poilish-Ukrainian battalion took place in Camp BREZA in MNB East. The fifth troop rotation of the Ukrainian contingent in Kosovo was completed the 9 of August.
