NATO port visit to Elat, Israel

An “Augusta Bell 212” takes off from the Standing NRF Mine Countermeasure Group 2 (SNMCMG2) flagship ITS Bersagliere during a “Search and Rescue” exercise in the Golf of Aqaba on 21st March 2005. The SAR-exercise involves ships of NATO’s SNMCMG2 and patrol boats of the Jordan Navy and is part of the “Mediterranean Dialogue” port visit to Aqaba, Jordan from 16th to 21st March 2005.

The Jordan Navy officer is embarked on the SNMCMG2 flagship ITS Bersagliere during a “search and rescue” exercise in the Golf of Aqaba on 21st March 2005. The exercise is part of the SNMCMG2 harbor visit to Aqaba, Jordan, conducted from 16th to 21st March 2005 in the framework of NATO’s cooperation program to support peace and stability, the “Mediterranean Dialogue”.

The operational officer of the German mine hunter FGS Laboe, Lieutenant Dietmar Russ explains advantages and disadvantages of the German mine hunting equipment to a group of officers of Israel’s Navy in Elat on 23rd March 2005. FGS laboe is the German contribution to NATO’s Standing NRF Mine Countermeasure Group 2 (SNMCMG2), which visits Elat, Israel during its “Red Sea Deployment”.
