Trip coordinator to the SNCO ACO

Sgt. Denis Roy

Sgt Denis Roy was born in St-Georges, Québec, Canada on 08 February 1969 and enrolled in the Canadian Forces in March 1990.

He completed basic training at ERLFC St-Jean-, Québec and was posted to CFB Gagetown, New-Brunswick where he underwent trade qualification training as a crewman, armoured and was assigned to 12 Régiment Blindé du Canada, CFB Valcartier, Québec. In 1993 he was attached posted to the United Nations Protection Forces (UNPROFOR), Former Yugoslavia as a member of the Second Canadian Battalion (CANBAT 2).

In March 1994 he was promoted to corporal. After trade reassignment to resource management resource clerk in 2000, was posted to the 5è Battalion des Services du Canada, CFB Valcartier, Québec. In 2001 he was attached posted to Operation Palladium ROTO 9 (SFOR), Former Yugoslavia as a member of the Groupement Tactique 3e R22èR.

In July 2003 he was promoted to Master corporal. In 2004, he was attached posted to Élément de Soutien National, Operation Athéna ROTO 1, Kabul, Afghanistan. In July 2005, he was posted to CFSU(E) Det Casteau, SHAPE, Belgium.

In June 2006 he was promoted to sergeant and he was taking over Chief-clerk position to the CFSU(E) Det Casteau, SHAPE, Belgium. In October 2006, he was transferred to the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, Allied Command Operations.

Sgt Roy assumed his present position as Trip Coordinator to the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, Allied Command Operations, in October 2006.

He has been awarded the UNPROFOR Medal, FMRYUGOBAR Medal, the Canadian Peace Service Medal and the GCS (General Campaign Star) ISAF.
