COMSFOR Message of Condolence

SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina - On behalf of the men and women of the Stabilisation Force, COMSFOR, Major General Virgil L. Packett II, wishes to express his deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of the French SFOR soldier killed in a vehicle accident near Sarajevo today.

COMSFOR would also like to wish a quick and full recovery to the three other soldiers injured in the same incident. No civilian personnel were involved in the accident.

COMSFOR further wishes to pay tribute to the dedication and professionalism of all SFOR personnel as they carry out their duties. It is an unfortunate fact that in any military operation accidents do happen; today's tragic occurrence underlines the risk that all SFOR soldiers face in their line of duty.

The thoughts and prayers of all SFOR members are with the family and friends of the deceased.
