Response To Tihic
- We Will Not Compromise Standards
The vetting decisions are taken under the provision of the General Framework
Agreement for Peace (GFAP).
This is not about guilt or innocence or about entities. It is about selecting
officers who are credible and have the trust and confidence of all parties
and the international community and most importantly the military personnel
they will lead. We do not intend to compromise these standards.
These officers will be the benchmark by which the future of the AFBiH
will be measured. Their selection will demonstrate to the NATO and international
community, Bosnia-Herzegovina's commitment to international standards
of leadership. These officers will determine whether Bosnia-Herzegovina
is ready to move forward into the future and eventually Partnership for
Peace or whether the country will be bound by the past.
