The Mission of the NSA is to initiate, co-ordinate, support and administer standardization activities conducted under the authority of the NATO Committee for Standardization (NCS)

Why Standardize?

The aim of NATO Standardization is to enhance the Alliance’s operational effectiveness through the attainment of interoperability among Alliance forces, and additionally between NATO forces and forces of Partners and other States, thus improving efficiency in the use of available resources.

From common doctrine for planning a campaign, to standard procedures for transferring supplies between ships at sea to interoperable material such as fuel connections at airfields, STANDARDS permit the many NATO countries work to together
