Role/Task: The tasks of the German Contingent / MNTF S are:

Operational:
  • maintain a safe and secure environment in support of the Kosovo Police Service and UNMIK-Police
  • control ongoing movements
  • protect minority settlements by preventing and stopping any expression of violence
  • protect main patrimonial sites
  • maintain the freedom of movement
Humanitarian:
  • Explosive ordnance detachment (EOD) operations
  • assistance to reconstruction
  • humanitarian assistance
Structure: The German Contingent, framework of MNTF S, is composed of different units, especially of 12th Armoured Brigade

  • Fuchs - Armoured Personnel Carrier
  • Luchs - Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle
  • Dingo - Armoured Multi Purpose Vehicle
  • General Purpose helicopter Bell UH 1 D
