KFOR – Implementation of Mission Tailored Organization

On 30st January 2010 COM KFOR, Lieutenant General Markus Bentler, declared full operational capability of the newly formed KFOR Joint Logistics Support Group (JLSG). This finalizes an important step in the adaptation process of KFOR’s structure in order to become leaner and more flexible.

During the ceremony the JLSG flag was raised in KFOR Headquarters in Pristina.

The “mission-tailored” Unit will provide and enhance flexible logistics support for all KFOR troops in Kosovo. JLSG will execute tasks regarding the movement of troops in and out Kosovo. In addition, the JLSG will deal with engineer and medical support, internal transportation and movement control, contracting and real state management. This will be the first time that a similar combined logistic effort is implemented in a NATO Mission.

The first commander of the logistics group is Brigadier General Miroslav Kocian from Slovakia.

The JLSG Headquarters is located in Film City in Pristina and consists of NATO military specialists coming from numerous contributing nations.
