French Ambassador to Kosovo visit
On 21 October 2009, His Excellency, French Ambassador to the Republic to Kosovo, François-Xavier Deniau, visited Multinational Task Force North (MNTF-N). MNTF-N Commander, Brigadier General Arnaud Sainte-Claire Deville greeted Ambassador Deniau at Camp Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny in Novo-Selo where he received a brief on MNTF-N area of responsibility.
Once in Mitrovica, Ambassador Deniau followed a foot patrol from the French Battalion. After he arrived to the hill “barbecue”, Colonel Ollier, Commander of the French Battalion and Major Coquet, ACOS OPS of MNTF-N sent the French Battalion mission out and briefed Ambassador Deniau on the current situation of clearing ruins and building new houses in KROI I VITAKUT and ZVECAN.
Lastly, he visited by helicopter the typical cross-boarding posts (GATE 1 and DOG 31) between Serbia and Kosovo, and then proceeded to the Orthodox Monastery of Devic. Ambassador François-Xavier Deniau completed his visit across the north of Kosovo in Camp Plana where he attended the dissolution ceremony of the French Surgical Hospital in Plana.
