"Help Kosovo": Maneuver Battalion Dulje supports Austrian physicians
From 17 to 24 April the Austrian Armed Forces supported a relief action of the "Help Kosovo" association for children in Orahovac/Rahovec. "Help Kosovo" is an Austrian association that is committed first and foremost to helping mentally and physically handicapped children.
The association enables children to get, for example, medical examinations, medical treatment and necessary surgery. The soldiers of the Maneuver Battalion Dulje rendered assistance to "Help Kosovo" in the framework of civil-military cooperation by providing interpreters and facilitating transportation to the medical facilities.
Captain Josef G., the officer-in-charge of this project said the following: "It was our task to prepare the relief action and arrange the sequence in cooperation with the battalion physician. The physician of the maneuver battalion took a germ sample of the patients. Together with the field hospital we coordinated the surgery appointments and transported the patients to the medical facilities."
The medical service rendered by the Austrian physicians- ranging from minor operations to dental treatment- enabled the children to improve their quality of life. Now they can look into the future with good cheer.
