Faye STEPS into Kosovo
By Catherine Brook in Kosovo

Petite blonde singer and dancer Faye Tozer, former STEPS band member, has been wowing the British soldiers in Kosovo on her recent trip to meet troops. Her four-day tour was a real morale boost to the service men and women, who have been deployed on operations for over five months.

In just four days Faye visited over 800 soldiers at 12 different locations in Kosovo. During her whistle-stop tour she met up with soldiers from all over the UK and saw some of the country and its people.

"I'm not really a STEPS fan," admitted Lieutenant Ben Greaves, "but Faye was entertaining and cheered all the guys up no end."

Faye was fascinated by the soldiers' role of peacekeeping in Kosovo and interested in how they meet the many challenges of returning normality to a war torn county. She said, "Kosovo looks healthier than I thought, and it's very positive to see that the society has recovered so fast after the war with the help of the British troops."

Major Nat Webber said, "It's great the Army organises these visits for celebrities to come out to meet troops in operational theatres. The soldiers really appreciate it and it gives them something to look forward to besides going home."
