Two U.S. Service Members Killed in Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan - Two International Security Assistance Force service members died today in separate incidents that occurred in southern and eastern Afghanistan.

KABUL, Afghanistan - Two International Security Assistance Force service members died today in separate incidents that occurred in southern and eastern Afghanistan.
One U.S. service member died as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device detonation in southern Afghanistan. A second was killed in a hostile fire attack in eastern Afghanistan.
“We share a sense of sadness and loss with the families and friends of these service members and offer our deepest condolences to them in this most difficult time,” said Brig. Gen. Eric Tremblay, the ISAF spokesperson.
Additional release of information is pending next-of-kin notification.
ISAF is a key component of the international community’s engagement in Afghanistan, assisting the Afghan authorities in providing security and stability and creating the conditions for reconstruction and development.
