ISAF service member killed in eastern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member was killed as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device detonation on 25 June in eastern Afghanistan.

“With sorrow I share with you the news of this loss, and I offer ISAF's combined strength and solidarity to the family and friends of this brave service member,” said Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, ISAF Spokesperson.  “The Afghan people, with the support of ISAF will triumph over these terror tactics and secure their roads and their nation.”

It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
