One civilian killed, 2 injured in Taliban clash with ISAF forces

Kandahar, Afghanistan – One local national died and two others were injured in a clash between Taliban insurgents and ISAF forces in Zabul Province, Sept 18.

ISAF troops were engaged by enemy forces at Forward Operating Base Baylough yesterday afternoon. A short while later three civilians were found with suspected blast injuries in a building adjacent to the incident.  It is not clear how they sustained the injuries but two were evacuated to Kandahar airfield and the third stayed at Qalat.  Unfortunately, one of the casualties, a woman, died of wounds during the medical evacuation.

The casualties were caused as a result of an attack instigated by the Taliban. ISAF forces make every effort to avoid risks to civilian life while dealing with and responding to potential insurgent threats.
