Military Committee Meeting with the Chiefs of Defense of NATO and non-NATO contributing Nations to ISAF

Brussels, 17 October.  NATO Chiefs of Defence from all 28 member-nations, together with 14 Troop Contributing Nations to NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), gathered today at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

Led by the Chairman of the Military Committee, Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, the Chiefs of Defense discussed the implications of COMISAF’s initial strategic assessment of the situation in Afghanistan, including the aspects related to the further development of the Afghan National Security Forces.
The outcome of this meeting will be brought before NATO’s political authorities for their deliberation during the informal NATO Ministerial meeting scheduled for 22 - 23 October in Bratislava, Slovakia.
