Key to the Institutions of Cooperation, Partnership and Dialogue
  NATO-Russia Council (NRC)

Members All member countries of NATO and the Russian Federation.
Chairman Secretary General of NATO
Role Established in accordance with Rome Declaration adopted and signed by NATO member states and Russia on 28 May 2002. Forum for consultation, consensus-building, cooperation, joint-decision and joint action on a wide range of security issues in the Euro-Atlantic region between NATO and Russia.
Levels Meets at level of ambassadors and military representatives at least monthly, twice yearly at the level of Foreign and Defence Ministers and Chiefs of Staff, and occasionally at Summit level.
Principal Subordinate Committees NRC Working Groups have been created to address terrorism, proliferation, theatre missile defence and airspace management. The Working Group on Peacekeeping established under the Permanent Joint Council has also been carried over into the NRC framework.
Staff Support Supported by Russian and NATO staffs. Many Divisions and Offices of the NATO International Staff and International Military Staff support the work of the NRC directly or indirectly.
