Від імені НАТО я хочу висловити засудження того, у який спосіб були проведені вибори у Білорусі. Як засвідчили міжнародні спостерігачі, включаючи місію ОБСЄ, виборчий процес не відповідав демократичним стандартам.

Народ Білорусі має право обрати керівництво країни шляхом демократичного процесу; під час цих виборів населенню було в черговий раз відмовлено у такому праві. Я твердо закликаю білоруське керівництво вжити заходів для забезпечення поваги до євроатлантичних демократичних стандартів, зокрема, тих, яких воно зобов’язалося дотримуватися, приєднавшись до програми “Партнерство заради миру”.
