Statement by the NATO Secretary General on the bombing in Iraq

On behalf of NATO, I strongly condemn the bombing that occurred today in Baghdad, which caused huge loss of innocent life. This was a reprehensible act of violence, for which there can be no justification.

I express my condolences to the Iraqi Government and people, and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
