The Multimedia Library holds an extensive collection of photo and video material taken by free-lance photographers and cameramen and for which NATO has sole copyright.

This material illustrates key events that have marked NATO’s history : NATO Ministerial and Summit Meetings, high-level visits to NATO Headquarters  and official trips abroad as well as NATO military exercises and operations.

Photos

The NATO Newsroom gives you access to two photo databases :

  • The Photo gallery offers images of recent press events from 2009 onwards.
  • The Photo Archives gallery gives you the possibility of browsing through the photos from 1949 to 2008.

The material may be downloaded to file or printer for the purposes of non-commercial research and private study, directly from the online Photo Galleries in high definition.

 

Video Footage

The Newsroom also gives you access to some audio and video recordings that are available in the Multimedia Library. Please note that some recordings are only available online.

Specific footage requests must be addressed directly to the Multimedia Library (e-mail address : multilib@hq.nato.int)

The Multimedia Library can provide video footage in the following formats : Betacam SP, SX or Digital as well as Mini-DV and DVD.

The NATO Channel TV service also disseminates video coverages online of recent press event and also has an archive of historical footage.
