We have just held a minute of silence at NATO in memory of the victims of the barbaric terrorist attacks in Paris. Allies stand together with France in sorrow and solidarity. We condemn these attacks in the strongest terms. They were an attack on our core values of freedom, democracy and human rights.

Ten years after the horrendous terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001 in the United States, we remember and pay tribute to the many that have lost their lives or loved ones in terrorist attacks around the world. Terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, will never be tolerated and can never be justified. It must be prevented and its perpetrators brought to justice. NATO remains determined to fight terrorism with unwavering resolve.

The North Atlantic Council met today and strongly condemned Monday’s bomb attack in front of the Danish Embassy in Islamabad. The Council also expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and their sympathies to those who were injured.
