The establishment of the Archives allowed the public access to Alliance records for the first time.
The commemorative event will bring together leading researchers and historians from NATO member countries to discuss NATO’s historic challenges and achievements from the Cold War to more recent times.
Presentations, in French and English, are intended to appeal to academics, students, policymakers, and diplomats as well as those interested in history, politics and international relations.
The public is warmly invited to attend. There is no registration fee. The Headquarters offers a number of culinary options for lunch and snacks.
For more information, or if you would like to attend the conference as an individual or as a group, please contact Anne-Marie Smith at smith.anne-marie@hq.nato.int by Friday, 6 March 2009.
