Because today’s armed forces face a wide range of rapidly changing threats, NNEC aims to enable NATO members and partners to conduct more complex operations and, despite fewer forces, conduct them more efficiently and effectively. NNEC should allow swift communication from the top command down to the soldiers in the field as well as better coordination among Allied and partner countries through improved networking and information infrastructure.
Topics on the event’s agenda range from information assurance and security management to cloud computing, cultural aspects of collaboration, and a service-oriented approach to information management. The NATO-led International Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) will be also addressed.
The conference is organized by Allied Command Transformation, one of NATO’s top two military commands.
