The event, entitled “New Challenges – New Capabilities”, will bring together leading security experts and decision-makers from both sides of the Atlantic including a number of high-ranking representatives of the Alliance and its member states.
The aim of the conference is to create a regional high-level forum for examining some of the most critical issues of today’s security environment.
On the first evening, a youth event entitled “The Voices of Freedom”, will mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain. It will bring together some of the main protagonists of the Velvet Revolution in the then Czechoslovakia and representatives of the successor generation from Central European countries. The aim of the event is to allow participants to share their experience and views on the dramatic events of November ‘89 as well as voice their ideas about meeting the challenges faced by today’s societies.
The conference is organized jointly by the Slovak Atlantic Commission and the Slovak Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence, and supported by NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division. It will be live streamed on the conference website as well as on NATO’s website. For more information, visit http://www.ncbc.sk/.
