On 15 January 2010, the Prime Minister of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia¹, Nikola Gruevski, met with Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen at NATO Headquarters. They discussed the country’s contribution to NATO operations, such as in Afghanistan, as well as the country’s progress towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

Secretary General meets UK Foreign Secretary, Georgian President at UN

On the second day of his visit to the United Nations in New York, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen met first with UK Foreign Secretary David Milliband. They focused principally on Afghanistan, including the importance of stepping up the training and equipment of Afghan security forces, and the steps necessary to accelerate a transition to Afghan lead in security and other civilian sectors.
