Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq visits NATO Headquarters

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, Mr. Hoshyar Zebari visited the NATO Headquarters on 11 May 2012 and met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Alexander Vershbow.

The Deputy Secretary General discussed with Minister Zebari ways to broaden and deepen the partnership with Iraq, including in areas such as defence institution building,  education and training and counter-terrorism. They also exchanged views on a  range of issues related to Iraq and the region.

The Deputy Secretary General reaffirmed NATO’s commitment to continue supporting Iraq’s reform efforts through the Alliance’s partnership programmes.
