Career path

Brigadier Dobran Božič started his military career in the Territorial Defence of the Republic of Slovenia in 1984 as a reserve officer. His professional military career in the Territorial Defence started in 1993. He is one of the Slovenian Armed Forces members with a great deal of experiences in the professionalization of the Slovenian Armed Forces. He has performed a number of staff and command duties at various command and control levels and has acquired important international experiences, both, in multinational operations and missions and different military exercises. In 2007, he commanded the largest Slovenian Armed Forces Contingent KFOR 15 in Kosovo and at the same time acted as Deputy Commander, Multinational Task Force West, KFOR. In 2011, he was Commander of the Slovenian Contingent ISAF 15 in Afghanistan and at the same time mentored Commander, 207th Corps of the Afghan National Army. He is a veteran of the 1991 War for Slovenia and has authored and co-authored several professional works on military science.
