Organized by the UNDU jointly with the NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome, the forum gathered representatives from the Ukrainian Defence Ministry and the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Diplomatic Academy under the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Ministry of Emergencies and civil society.
Representatives from the NATO School in Oberammergau joined International NATO Week’s participants for the first time. They shared practical experience of planning and executing military operations in different NATO missions with Ukrainian officers.
“The main objective of International Week is to enhance knowledge and awareness of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s activities and cooperation between the Ukrainian Joint Armed Forces and NATO,” said UNDU Acting Commandant, General Lieutenant Vasyl Telelym.
Responding to a question from the media, NDC Commandant Lieutenant General Arne Bård Dalhaug stressed that International NATO Week is the only forum in which the representatives of the NATO Defense College participate. “It demonstrates the important role your country plays for NATO as a stable and reliable partner, which has participated in numerous NATO-led operations,” he concluded.
