16 Jan. 2013 - 17 Jan. 2013		NATO Chiefs of Defence bring transformation to the forefront Brussels – Today, the Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence format set out a vision for NATO Command and Force structures which must be capable, interoperable and also able to operate together with partners to meet the full spectrum of future challenges. As the operational tempo in Afghanistan progressively changes, NATO Chiefs of Defence remain committed to ensure that NATO military structures and capabilities stay fit for purpose and match the Alliance’s core tasks.
14 Sep. 2012 - 16 Sep. 2012		Air Marshal Sir Christopher Harper elected as new Director General IMS Sibiu, Romania, 15 September - Today, the Chiefs of Defence of the 28 NATO nations elected Air Marshal Sir Christopher Harper of the United Kingdom as the new Director General of the International Military Staff (DGIMS) at NATO Headquarters. The DGIMS is elected among his peers, the NATO Military Representatives, to head the Alliance’s International Military Staff, for a term of 3 years. Air Marshal Sir Christopher Harper will assume his new function in summer 2013.
14 Sep. 2012 - 16 Sep. 2012		Military Committee takes forward Chicago Summit decisions Sibiu, 15 September,- Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) and Military Representatives (MRs) of the twenty-eight NATO countries concluded the Military Committee Conference in the city of Sibiu, Romania, hosted by the Romanian Chief of Defence, General Stefan Danila.
14 Sep. 2012 - 16 Sep. 2012		NATO CHODs discuss NATO's post 2014 role in Afghanistan At their Military Committee (MC) Conference in Sibiu, the 28 NATO Chiefs of Defence (CHODS) based their discussions on Afghanistan upon the NATO Strategic Plan for Afghanistan (NSPA) which was endorsed by Heads of State and Government at the Chicago Summit in May. The Plan provides the foundation for the NATO-led post-ISAF engagement in the country.

Knud Bartels, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, visited Ukraine from 5 to 7 September for a series of high level talks on Ukraine Defence reform and NATO-Ukraine operational cooperation.
26 Apr. 2012 - 28 Apr. 2012		New Head of the NATO Military Liaison Mission in Moscow Moscow, 26-28 April 2012 - The Director General of the International Military Staff, Lt Gen Juergen Bornemann, visited Moscow between the 26th and 28th of April 2012 to attend the ceremony marking the Handover of the new Head of the NATO Military Liaison Mission in Moscow. Having completed 4 years in post, Maj Gen Laszlo Makk of the Hungarian Army handed over to Rear Admiral Geir Osen of the Norwegian Navy.
26 Apr. 2012		167th Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session Brussels, 26 April 2012 – Chiefs of Defence from NATO member and NATO Partner countries have concluded two days of meetings at NATO Headquarters. Chaired by General Knud Bartels, Chairman of the Military Committee, NATO’s highest-level military gathered in Brussels to discuss key security issues. Discussions focused on NATO operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo, Lessons Identified in Libya, military cooperation with Partners and issues in anticipation of the Chicago Summit (20-21 May 2012).
20 Mar. 2012		NATO's Military Committee visits the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) in the Hague The Hague, 20 March 2012 – Today the NATO Military Committee led by its Chairman, General Knud Bartels, was hosted by the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) at their Headquarters in the Hague, where they were welcomed by Mr. Georges D’hollander, General Manager of NC3A.
02 Jan. 2012		General Knud Bartels starts as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Brussels, 02 January - Today, Danish General Knud Bartels assumed his position as Chairman of NATO 's Military Committee, for which he was elected by NATO’s 28 Chiefs of Defence on 17 September 2011. General Bartels succeeds the Italian Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola.
14 Dec. 2011		Afghan Chief of General Staff meets NATO Military Committee Brussels, 14 December – Today, Gen Sher Mohammed Karimi, Chief of the General Staff of the Afghan Armed Forces, met with the NATO Military Committee in ISAF format to discuss Afghanistan. Discussions focussed particularly on the development of the Afghan National Army and the training and education capabilities of the Afghan Training Command and Educational Institutions.
