The depository library will provide print and electronic resources for students, instructors, and researchers at the Swedish Defence College as well as for the general public. This material will also be made available to employees of the Swedish armed forces, the military's research institute (FOI), and the Swedish Defence Material Administration.
This cooperative project will also include an exchange of library services, such as interlibrary loans of books and articles, as well as a collection of NATO material, multimedia and a search station connected to NATO's website. The library will also provide search help for visitors interested in using NATO's electronic resources. The goal of this collaboration is to make NATO-related material visible and accessible in the biggest security-related library in northen Europe.
The depository library was inaugurated on 8 March 2012 by HE Veronika Wand-Danielsson, Ambassador of Sweden to NATO, the Rector of the Swedish Defence College, Mr Romulo Enmark and Mr Michel Duray, Head of the Partnerships Section in NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division.
