Parliamentarians and academics from Mauritania visit NATO HQ

On 17-18 December 2012, parliamentarians and academics from Mauritania visited the Alliance's Headquarters. The distinguished delegation, headed by Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ematt, Vice President of the National Assembly, included Senators and Deputies as well as university professors.

The delegation met, among others, with the NATO Deputy Secretary General Amb. Alexander Vershbow, and with the Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Mr. James Appathurai, as well as with representatives of Allied nations.

Mauritania has been a member of NATO's Mediterranean Dialogue since 1994.
