NATO School explores energy security

Energy is vital for society and the military and NATO continues to consult on and develop its capacity to contribute to energy security. The changing energy landscape and its security implications for NATO Allies and partner countries was the focus of the first Energy Security Strategic Awareness Course held at the NATO School in Oberammergau which concluded on 2 October.

Lisbon hosts NATO-Industry Forum 2015

The NATO-Industry Forum 2015 is the primary venue for strategic dialogue with the defence and security industry on NATO capability planning and development. NATO Secretary General, Ambassadors and Military Commanders attend ACT change-of-command ceremony

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, together with Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, Ambassadors from the North Atlantic Council and members of the Military Committee attended Wednesday’s (30 September 2015) change-of-command ceremony at Allied Command Transformation (ACT) headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia. The ceremony marked the official handover of the post of Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) from General Jean-Paul Paloméros to General Denis Mercier.

NATO Secretary General lays wreath at September 11 Memorial

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg joined United States Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, Mr. Richard Stengel and US Ambassador to NATO, Douglas Lute for a wreath laying at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York City on Sunday (27 September). Secretary General Stoltenberg also had the honour to accept a piece of steel from one of the Twin Towers, to be displayed at NATO’s new headquarters in Brussels.

New KFOR Commander holds positive talks on Kosovo with Serbian Armed Forces Chief

Kosovo has become increasingly secure and this positive trend is especially prominent in Northern Kosovo, where they have been no major security incidents in recent months to jeopardise the peace and freedom of movement. This was the conclusion of the Commander of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF), General Ljubisa Dikovic. Their meeting in Nis, Serbia, last Wednesday (23 September, 2015), was their first since the appointment of General Miglietta in August.
