Admiral Di Paola discusses NATO’s new challenges at ISPI Institute
Milan (Italy), 4 Nov 2011 - Admiral Di Paola, Chairman of NATO Military Committee, met today with a large audience of professors and master students at the Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale (ISPI), to discuss the current agenda and main activities of the Alliance.
"After the conclusion of the mission in Libya, NATO works on lessons identified to proceed in his continuous effort to meet at best today's challenges to the security scenario, in support of the International Community," said the Chairman, "keeping in mind the unpredictability and uncertainty of new arising threats."
During the debate following the speech, one of the main focus topic for the audience was the process, currently done by the NATO members, to join their efforts in addressing the security challenges in a multinational way, a sharing process called "Smart Defence" .
Founded in 1934, ISPI is one of the oldest and most prestigious international relations institutes in Italy, with its headquarters in Palazzo Clerici, Milan. In particular, ISPI has become the institute that makes the biggest contribution in Italy to forming tomorrow’s diplomats as well as young people wishing to work in international organizations, both governmental and non-governmental.
