Next month’s NATO Summit in Wales will focus on the Alliance’s readiness to deal with the full range of threats, Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on a visit to Copenhagen on Friday (15 August). ''We will adopt a Readiness Action Plan to make ourselves faster and more agile,'' he said.

NATO must adapt to security challenges such as Russia's illegal actions in Ukraine, Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on Thursday (14 August) during a visit to Norway. "For the first time since the end of the Second World War, one country in Europe has seized the land of another by force, and we have to adapt," he said at a press conference with Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

NATO’s unique role as a forum for transatlantic cooperation was a key theme of talks as Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited Iceland on Wednesday (13 August). “The transatlantic relationship is at the heart of NATO. The cooperation between North America and Europe which makes our citizens safer, and our countries stronger. And Iceland embodies that transatlantic relationship,” he said.
