18 Jun. 2013		NATO Secretary General in Kabul as Afghan security forces take lead countrywide The NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen was in Kabul on Tuesday (June 18) to take part in the official ceremony during which President Hamid Karzai announced the fifth and final group of Afghan provinces, cities and districts to undergo transition in the coming months. “This is a day for Afghans to be proud. And I am proud to stand with you”, Mr Fogh Rasmussen said.

18 Jun. 2013		Military healthcare starts transitioning to Afghan control During the month of June, responsibility for three regional military hospitals will be transferred to the full control of the Afghan National Army (ANA). This marks the beginning of the ANA taking greater control of military healthcare. The transfer of Paktia Regional Military Hospital to Afghan lead was marked by a ceremony on 1 June. The regional military hospitals in Mazar-e Sharif and Herat are slated to transfer authority later this month.
14 Jun. 2013		NATO Secretary General: Alliance open to closer ties with Moldova NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen told Moldova’s Prime Minister that the Alliance stood ready to develop closer ties during talks at NATO headquarters on Friday (14 June 2013). “We agree that we should make the most of the Individual Partnership Action Plan between NATO and Moldova and develop it further,” the Secretary General said.

12 Jun. 2013 - 14 Jun. 2013		NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre praised for its support to the Connected Forces Initiative The NATO Military Committee visited Norway for a three-day trip to NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, and the Norwegian Joint Headquarters in Bodø. The visit provided NATO’s Military Representatives with a first-hand experience of the progress being made with the Alliance’s Connected Forces Initiative.

07 Jun. 2013		NATO Week raises awareness of Georgia’s path to integration The annual NATO Week in Georgia was launched in the capital Tbilisi on Monday 3 June. The opening ceremony was followed by a seminar involving representatives from three Western Balkans countries that, like Georgia, aspire to NATO membership. In parallel, a two-day event briefed Georgian journalists about NATO’s current policies and agenda. Other events involving school children, students, and representatives of civil society and local and national media took place across the country in the days that followed.
05 Jun. 2013		NATO Defence Ministers endorse concept for new post-2014 mission in Afghanistan NATO Defence Ministers on Wednesday (5 June 2013) endorsed the detailed concept for the new NATO-led mission to train, advise and assist the Afghan security forces after 2014. “That concept will guide our military experts as they finalise the plan in the course of the coming months,” said NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
